The group said they believed the drug could be used to treat other conditions such as pulmonary arterial hypertension and high blood pressure, and to prevent or treat a heart attack and stroke.
The MHRA’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has also advised people who have taken the drug to stop taking it and to seek medical advice if they experience any of the following symptoms:

It added that the risks were similar to those reported with sildenafil in the US.
The MHRA said that the drug is a “potentially life-threatening drug that is not suitable for all patients and that may have adverse effects on patients’ health.
A spokesman for the company said: “Healthcare professionals and patients should be aware of the increased risks of using the drug. Healthcare professionals have the responsibility to provide safe and appropriate treatment for patients.
“Healthcare professionals are asked to report adverse events to MHRA at or within 48 hours of the drug’s official product release.
